F-1 HELP AND INFORMATION PAGE

This page contains computer manuals, directions for computer usage, and various supplemental local information. All commands and buttons on the machines themselves have been retained (like "linfo", "showloc", etc.). This page supplements them but may in the future supersede them. Sometimes the quickest way to the relevant information is still found by typing "man -k keyword" in a terminal window.

Computer benchmarks

  • Benchmarks by R. Krivec
  • Processor speed table: A comparison of SPEC and Linpack numbers for a set of processors, compiled from Linpack, SPEC and other sources. This is a quite interesting table for the floating point users, showing the relative worth of processors (relative to theoretical values), and the relative worth of some well-known benchmarks.
